siliXcon controllers offer several ways of motor braking. One of them is throttle release braking (engine braking). This article shows you how to make the setup.

Before start, it is recommended to attach the motor(device) on a stand.

Instructions on how to restore a parameter

  1. Enable throttle braking by setting the parameter /drvopts to value 3

  2. Setup throttle asc/acc/min and max parameters based on the voltage reading from the throttle

  3. Set asc/acc/center value approx. 100mV above the min value.

  4. Braking force (level) can be set individually in each map by parameter maps/mapx/comlvl

Braking force can be also set as a function of vehicle speed. Parameter brake/comlvlSpeedLo defines point where the throttle braking disengage completely. Parameter brake/comlvlSpeedHi defines point where the braking force is not limited by this speed function

Restart your device and throttle braking should be activated
